women and couples of all preferences and orientations. You may attend
this one-of-a-kind offering in Los Angeles; taking the original model
of the successful yearlong training Dr. Patti is now providing a weeklong
intensives, Monday through Friday, with evening sessions, breakouts,
field trips and group cohesion for a truly transformational learning
opportunity. This weeklong intensive leads to an AASECT Certificate and
from Dr. Britton’s I.S.S.R. at the completion of the entire training.
If you are currently working in the field of sexual treatment or are an
intern, fellow or student preparing for professional work in the field
this training is for you. This remarkable opportunity is open to
professionals in the sexology, psychotherapy, medical and mental health
fields who are interested in specific advanced training in clinical
sexology practice and intervention.

Cost: $2,500 for professionals or a student rate of $1,500 inclusive with certificate. Please note all students must provide proof of current enrollment status from the institution in which they are enrolled. Anyone interested in both the Clinical Sexology training and the SAR together, can earn a $100 discount. Clinical Sexology PLUS SAR rate for professionals=$2875 inclusive.

Clinical Sexology Training:
(Tentative schedule for the 5-days= 40 hours of training)
• Day One AM: Overview of course; basic tenets and models for treatment; setting the stage; sensate focus training program
• Day One PM: Males: ED and Ejaculatory control issues (Early and Delayed Ejaculation); possible speaker on sex addiction; Evening= documentary on sex workers
• Day Two AM: Males: Other issues, such as low desire, body dysphoria, sexual trauma, older virgins, aging
• Day Two PM: Females: Orgasm and desire issues; Evening=documentary on tribute to Candida Royalle and her life’s work as a filmmaker
• Day Three AM: Females: Other issues, such as negative body image, shyness, inhibitions, sexual trauma, aging; possible speaker on surrogate partner therapy
• Day Three PM: Couples: Sexless relationships/touch aversion; Evening=documentary on medicalization of female sexuality; Field Trip to local sex boutique
• Day Four AM: Couples: Desire discrepancy issues/communication style conflicts; recovery from affairs/affair-prevention and trust; possible speaker on brainsex
• Day Four PM: Males/Females/Couples: Medical/clinical issues,
such as pregnancy, disabilities, painful sex, illness and RX drug
reactions; possible speaker on disabilities; Evening=Politics of sex or bodywork sessions on site
• Day Five AM-12:30 PM: BDSM/kink play for enhancing pleasure and intimacy; Spirituality/sexuality– helping clients find spiritual pathways / Finale and closure
Clinical Sexology Course Models
Utilization of the MEBES© model (Britton’s unique integrative, holistic
model for assessment and treatment of sexual concerns) along with the
traditional PLISSIT model are used as the foundation for all clinical
sexology courses. This basic course in clinical sexology will address
the following: Traditional sex therapy techniques, such as sensate
focus, spirituality-based sexual treatments, cognitive-behavioral
training, humanistic psychological styles, along with demonstrations
using a variety of contemporary educational media and sample cases. Each
session is designed to include lectures by Dr. Patti, selected media
clips, case studies, explicit and non-explicit educational media and
outside speakers when relevant. This is a rich, dynamic approach to
training professionals in treating a wide variety of clients’ sexual
concerns.
Dr. Patti Britton, Clinical Sexologist and Certified Master Sex Coach in private practice, is nationally-board certified as a Clinical Sexologist, AASECT-Certified Sexuality Educator, ABS Diplomate, Clinical Fellow of the American Association of Clinical Sexologists, and the American College of Sexologists; she is also Assistant Professor at The Chicago School of Professional Psychology/ Westwood Campus where she has been leading the California-state-approved sexuality certificate concentration for doctoral students in the Treatment of Sexual Disorders. Dr. Britton is also faculty for the Institute for Advanced Study of Human Sexuality.

I have taken Dr. Patti’s 12 month Clinical Sexology training and I have to say it was one of the best experiences I have had on my journey to better understanding sexuality for not only my clients but for myself.
